Responsibilities

  • Partner with QA Manager to define, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure the quality of software products and leverage multiple resources for support
  • Lead team members, providing mentorship, advice and suggestions to more junior testers
  • Direct small teams of testers through priority test efforts, shifting focus as needed and organizing group testing sessions that drive results towards a specific outcome.
  • Test new features, cosmetic items, and third-party integrations in the Gorilla Tag VR title
  • Create robust reporting metrics and mechanisms for distributing test status info and risk assessments to the development team
  • Verify bug fixes, ensuring intended functionality, and escalating serious defects
  • Collaborate with the internal team, as well as contract testers to complete assigned work with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • Suggest and implement process and departmental improvements, including using creative problem-solving and being open to alternative solutions
  • Partner with the QA Manager in defining risk, and understanding current test coverage and gaps therein
  • Respond to requests, tasks, and assignments in a timely manner, no later than end of day for updates
  • Adapt to changing project requirements, technologies, and priorities
  • Serve as subject matter expert, providing testing know-how for the support of user requirements and help identify quality improvements in all aspects of the game

Essential Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience working on a team performing testing for games
  • 1+ years of experience as a Lead or Senior QA Tester, directing teams in day-to-day tasks
  • Proven experience with working cross-discipline with an understanding of the full game development cycle
  • Proven experience with problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proven experience in crafting and executing test cases to ensure top-notch quality
  • Proven experience leading peer reviews of test scenarios and test cases
  • Proven experience with testing in an Agile Development environment
  • Proven experience multitasking and prioritizing multiple tasks with little to no guidance
  • Experience being in the VR headset for multiple hours a day in a fast-paced app/game
  • Experience working in a team environment where there are multiple levels of people and other disciplines

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Tester to utilize their excellent problem-solving skills to find and resolve various in-game issues and direct teams of testers to ensure adequate coverage. This role is responsible for crafting, continuous improvement, and executing corresponding testing strategies. The Senior QA tester finds defects to help ship a high-quality VR game. This role fulfills technical testing needs, analyzes data, supports and assists the QA Manager to suggest and test critical testing tools, and ensures the overall quality of the product. The Senior QA Tester spends multiple hours in a VR headset daily. The successful candidate will be comfortable acting in a highly collaborative role with multiple teams and disciplines and requires the ability to stay focused when in an isolated environment. This role requires a strong ability to pay attention to detail and remain on task. Clear communication skills are used to relay key information to the team and stakeholders, and to drive knowledge sharing. The Senior QA Tester is required to communicate QA concepts frequently, clearly, and reliably, tailoring delivery to the audience. Compensation: Salary Exempt (Estimated Total Compensation - $100,000 - $140,000 base salary with $15,000 - $20,000 in potential bonus)
